Living in Hoi An has always been a dream for us. We are lucky to experience many different sides of this beautiful place - quiet mornings by the beach, lunches beside the river, sunset drinks overlooking the rice fields, and evenings wandering through the lantern-lit streets of the Ancient Town.

We had been meaning to visit Tam Thanh Mural Village for some time. However, it was not until we met our lovely guests Jean-Pierre and Tina, who had already visited Hoi An three times and were searching for a new experience, that we finally decided to make the one-hour drive south.
And it became one of the loveliest days we have spent exploring around Hoi An.
Tam Thanh Mural Village is famous for transforming a traditional fishing village into a living art gallery where colourful murals are painted directly onto local homes and community spaces.
The transformation began in 2016 through a community art collaboration between Vietnamese and Korean artists, local volunteers, and residents.

It was the people.
We met a proud grandmother who happily invited us down her small alleyway to discover more hidden artworks. Children returning home from school waved and smiled as they passed through the village.
These small interactions showed the true spirit of Tam Thanh.
The murals brought visitors to the village, but the warmth of the community is what makes people remember it.
