After more than three years of research and development, 3 close expat friends began Distillerie D'Indochine to the south of Hoi An on an isolated undeveloped stretch of beach to establish itself with the goal of producing an authentic quality agricultural rum made right here at the heart of Viet Nam.
Driven by passion and taste for good things, the Distillery of Indochina participates in a traditional production that best expresses its terroir and tries to focus on using only local organic ingredients.
Led by Distiller Antoine Poircuitte, he carries the legacy of his grandfather who was also a distiller and inspired Antoine to follow in his creative step, and with the sharing of this ancestral knowledge of distillation Antoine has nurtured a culture and passion for spirits that knows no bounds. With this mission in mind, it is not surprise that Distillerie d'Indochine's Sampan Rhum has received several awards, including a Silver Medal at the World Rhum Awards 2025 for its Cellar Series (aged 4 years), a Double Gold Medal and "Best Agricultural Rum" at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its 54% ABV white rum, a Bronze Medal at the World Rum Awards 2024 for its Sampan Cellar Series, and a Bronze Medal at the World Rum Awards 2025 for its Monsoon White Rum.
But ask Loïc and he will always go straight for Sampan's Aged Rhums which simply get better with every year.
